Peggy Valcke is professor of law & technology at KU Leuven, member of the management board of the Leuven Centre for IT & IP Law (CiTiP), and principal investigator in the Security & Privacy Department of imec (previously iMinds). She has taken up positions as visiting and part-time professor at Tilburg University (Netherlands; 2009-2018); Bocconi University Milan (Italy; since 2018), the European University Institute in Florence (Italy; 2014), and Central European University in Budapest (Hungary; 2006).
Peggy teaches courses on ICT law, electronic communications law, media law, technology and law, and interdisciplinary study of law, in various masters and LL.M. programmes at KU Leuven. She is the academic coordinator of IusStart, KU Leuven’s Law Incubator linking law students with tech start-ups and law firms. She has a broad experience with international and interdisciplinary research dealing with legal aspects of IT and media innovation.
Besides her academic activities, Peggy is assessor (member of the deciding body) of the Belgian Competition Authority and member of the General Chamber of the Flemish Media Regulator (both since 2008).
